FMA Washington Report: September 12, 2022
New Top Leadership Coming to the House Oversight and Reform Committee

Representative Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), the current Chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, lost her primary election battle against fellow Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY) in August. The Oversight and Reform Committee has primary jurisdiction and oversight of federal manager issues in the House of Representatives.

Several Members of Congress have expressed interest for the top leadership position for Democrats, which would become a ranking member position if Republicans gain the majority for the 118th Congress. Reps. Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Stephen Lynch (D-MA), Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) are the top contenders for the leadership position. FMA will work with whomever emerges as the leader, as well as their Republican counterpart. FMA is non-partisan and we are proud to regularly work with legislators on both sides of the aisle on behalf of federal managers.
