Press Release

  • FMA LEADERS TO DISCUSS ANNUAL NATIONAL CONVENTION ON FEDtalk TOMORROW - February 23, 2012

  • Alexandria, VA - Federal Managers Association (FMA) National President Patricia Niehaus will appear on FederalNewsRadio's FEDtalk tomorrow to discuss the Association's upcoming National Convention and Management Training Seminar and recent legislative action affecting federal managers and supervisors.

Niehaus will be joined by FMA Executive Director Todd Wells and Government and Public Affairs Director Jessica Klement to provide an overview of the Association's Convention and how it will focus on the theme, Federal Managers - Doing More with Less. The training seminar, taking place on Tuesday, March 13, is open to all managers and supervisors across the federal government and will feature six panels of experts on various topics relevant to managing today's federal workforce. Two of the training day speakers will also be joining the show to give listeners an overview of their presentations. Casey Wilson from Management Concepts will share a preview of his seven quick fixes for managing performance, and Jason Milton of Gallup will talk about improving employee productivity and well-being through healthier workplace relationships.

During the second half of the show, FMA's Klement will discuss recently-passed legislation impacting federal managers and employees alike. Since the 112th Congress convened a little over a year ago, lawmakers have introduced several bills disparaging the work of federal employees. Niehaus, Wells and Klement will discuss FMA's response to these issues, as well as the Association's 2012 legislative agenda.

The radio show airs at 11:00 am on Friday, February 24, 2012, and can be heard on www.federalnewsradio.com or WFED 1500AM in the Washington, D.C. area. Questions can be e-mailed in advance to fedtalk@federalnewsradio.com. More information on FEDtalk can be found at: http://www.shawbransford.com/fedtalk.php.
