  • SICK LEAVE GRANTED TO FIRST YEAR FEDS WITH SERVICE RELATED DISABILITY - November 10, 2015
  • Disabled vets hired as feds get advanced sick leave

    Employees hired by the federal government and who qualify as thirty percent disabled or more by the Department of Veterans Affairs will now have immediate access to sick leave in order to attend medical appointments for their service-related disability. The Federal Managers Association (FMA) worked closely with the bipartisan supporters of the bill to ensure it wold have unanimous support in both the House and the Senate. FMA National President Patricia Niehaus commented, "As we approach Veterans Day, I am grateful that he federal government is meeting the needs of these wounded warriors, whose lives will be positively impacted by this legislation."
