• Groups urge super committee to protect federal pay and benefits

  FMA National President Patricia Niehaus wrote to the twelve members of the Congressional Super Committee regarding the $1.5 trillion cuts that will be made before the end of the year. Niehaus reminded members of the committee the work that federal employees do for the country and the consequences of cutting federal pay and benefits.

  "Similar to their private sector counterparts, federal workers are confronting rising health care costs and general living expenses, and many are responsible for supporting their families on a single paycheck," Niehaus stated.
