  • After Nearly Four Years, Phased Retirement Hasn't Quite Taken Off

    In 2012, Congress approved phased retirement, a human resources allowing full-time federal employees at participating agencies to work part-time schedules while beginning to draw retirement benefits. To date, this new benefit has been slow to take root. According to numbers provided by the Office of Personnel Management, only 31 employees have applied for phased retirement.
