  • The federal government lost more employees than it gained last year

    While the federal government hired 77,000 new employees in fiscal year 2013, it lost 115,000 employees. Additionally, federal departments and agencies struggle to attract younger workers: only 24 percent of new hires were younger than 30 years old.
