    The Federal Managers Association (FMA) has steadfastly advocated for several significant reforms in the federal workforce. While it is unlikely substantial progress can realistically be made in 2022, we are committed to pursuing these changes.

    As we have stated and testified over the years, FMA's focus has included pay for performance and a pay system that reflects the needs of the present federal workforce; utilizing the General Schedule (GS) as a steppingstone toward an evolved personnel classification; and ensuring departments and agencies have maximum flexibility to compete with the private sector to attract the best and the brightest to answer the call of a career in public service.
