• Shipyard sends off gifts in 'Caravan of Toys'

  The Caravan of Toys departs from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Saturday morning for the 66th consecutive year of providing toys to children in need across the region.

  The caravan purchased 3,300 toys this year with a total value of more than $16,000, according to the shipyard. The toys will be delivered to 30 agencies in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, which will then distribute them to children in need in their communities.
