  • HOUSE COMMITTEE ADOPTS REPEAL OF DOD POLICY ON PER DIEMS - May 2, 2016
  • The House Armed Services Committee (HASC) adopted an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) (H.R. 4909) sponsored by Representative Mark Takai (D-HI) that would repeal the per diem cuts for those on long term temporary duty (TDY). The cuts were instituted by the Department of Defense (DOD) in November 2014. The committee adopted the same amendment during consideration of last year's NDAA, but were not included in the final version that was signed into law. FMA strongly supports Mr. Takai's amendment and urges adoption of the NDAA when the full House considers the bill later this month.
