  • Bill aims to repeal reimbursement policy for shipyard workers

    A bipartisan group of U.S. Senators introduced legislation yesterday that would repeal Department of Defense (DOD) cuts to long term TDY per diems for shipyard employees. FMA has worked alongside other federal workforce advocacy groups to repeal the cuts for all DOD employees since the policy took effect in November 2014, which create an undue burden on the men and women who struggle to meet the new requirements. FMA will continue to advocate for a full repeal across DOD, but welcomes and supports this effort to remove the burden on shipyard employees.
