Senator Makes Good on Vow to Block OPM Nominee

Senator David Vitter (R-LA) will prevent the Senate from voting on Beth Cobert's nomination as Director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) until she responds to his request for information regarding a 2013 OPM decision regarding the Affordable Care Act and congressional staff. Cobert's nomination cleared the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on February 10. Additionally, the leadership of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee urged the Senate to approve her nomination. FMA has endorsed Cobert for the position.
