OPM CIO Seymour resigns days before Oversight hearing

Donna Seymour, the embattled Chief Information Officer at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announced her resignation on Monday, February 22, 2016. Seymour has faced calls for her resignation or termination since the June 4, 2015, announcement of the OPM data breach. She was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight and Government Reform (OGR) Committee for a hearing on the data breach on Wednesday, February 24. OGR Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) called Seymour's resignation "necessary and long overdue."
