• OPM RELEASES LATEST RETIREMENT BACKLOG NUMBERS - September 9, 2015

• Retirement Backlog Still High

  The current backlog of retirement applications is 16,350, according to the latest report from the Office of Personnel Management. OPM received more than 7,300 new retirement claims in August, nearly 550 more than in August 2014. The agency faces potential challenges in reducing the backlog further, as sequestration and a potential government shutdown would hamper its efforts.
