OPM to Charge Agencies for Services Offered to Hack Victims

Federal agencies will have to help fund the financial and identity theft protection services offered to the 21.5 million people whose personally identifiable information was compromised as part of the breach on background investigations, according to a letter from acting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Beth Cobert. The amount is currently undetermined, but initial payments will be required from Fiscal Year 2015 appropriations. OPM has offered a suite of protection services for three years.
