  • TSP, stung by participants who abandon it, to stress customer service

    With many investors transferring their money out of the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) after leaving government, the TSP's governing board met on Monday to outline a long-term strategic plan.

    This new plan will focus on providing their customers with more individual attention. TSP Executive Director Gregory Long envisions a shift in focus to "something that is more consultative.... Our participants are asking for and need a greater level of engagement from us." While this process could take several years to come to fruition, the TSP has already begun collecting phone numbers and email addresses for its online customers.
