  • Bill would boost federal sick-leave for disabled vets

    Representative Stephen Lynch (D-MA) introduced the bipartisan Wounded Warrior Federal Leave Act (H.R. 313) in the House of Representatives. This initiative, conceived by FMA members at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina, would provide 104 hours of sick leave up front to first year federal employees who qualify under the Department of Veterans Affairs. Patricia Niehaus, president of the Federal Managers Association, said the legislation was one of the group's top priorities and the organization would work to have the bill introduced in the Senate and made into law.
