- LEGISLATION AFFECTING FEDS AS THE 114TH CONGRESS BEGINS – January 8, 2015
FEHBP Reform, Pay Freezes and Lawmakers’ Other Day 1 Priorities in the 114th Congress

Members of the 114th Congress were sworn in on Tuesday, January 6, and several pieces of legislation were introduced that would impact feds. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced a series of bills that would make across the board cuts of varying degrees to all departments and agencies except for Defense, Homeland Security, and Veterans Affairs. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) reintroduced legislation he introduced last year which would repeal the Affordable Care Act and allow all Americans to enroll in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. Other legislation introduced in the first week of the session include bills that would freeze or cut legislators’ pay.
