• Meet the winners of the Sammies, the civil service’s version of the Oscars

  The thirteenth annual Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals, otherwise known as the Sammies, honored dedicated federal employees throughout the country who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. These men and women have accomplished extraordinary tasks, such as: lead global vaccination campaigns; analyze effectiveness and performance for critical housing and disaster recovery programs; investigate fraudulent Medicare claims, leading to the recovery of hundreds of millions of dollars; and, improve care for disabled veterans paralyzed by spinal chord injuries.
