    The 2025 federal pay raise is one step closer to being finalized after President Biden issued his alternative pay plan letter at the end of August outlining the amounts he wants for next year’s pay raise for federal employees.

    The president proposed a 2% raise for federal employees in March and reiterated it in his alternative pay plan letter. Assuming that is the final amount, the 2% 2025 federal pay raise will be divided between an average of 0.3% for locality pay areas and 1.7% as an across-the-board pay raise, according to what Biden outlined in the letter.
