• COLA Count at 2.4 Percent with Two Months to Go - August 22,2024

  With now just two months left in the counting period toward the January 2025 federal retirement COLA, the count stands at 2.4 percent, following an increase in July of 0.1 percentage points in the inflation index used to calculate that adjustment.

  That keeps the count in the range where those retired under FERS who are eligible for COLAs (generally not until age 62 unless retired under special retirement provisions for certain occupations) would get a flat 2 percent adjustment.
