FMA'S KLEMENT TO DISCUSS TOP FEDERAL WORKFORCE ISSUES, LEGISLATION ON FEDtalk TOMORROW - January 19, 2012
Alexandria, VA- Federal Managers Association (FMA) Government and Public Affairs Director Jessica Klement will appear on FederalNewsRadio'sFEDtalktomorrow to discuss the start of the second session of the 112th Congress and possible legislative action affecting federal managers and supervisors in the coming year.
Klement will be joined by John Palguta from the Partnership for Public Service and Beth Moten from the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). Together, the trio will discuss the biggest issues affecting federal employees in 2011, and what's in store for 2012. Topics will likely include: attrition proposals, the federal pay freeze and the chances of its extension, changes to the federal retirement systems, and the looming retirement wave and its impact on the backlog of retirement cases at the Office of Personnel Management.
Since the 112th Congress convened in January 2011, lawmakers have introduced several bills disparaging the work of federal employees, some of which have seen movement through Congress. Klement will also discuss FMA's response to these issues, as well as the Association's 2012 legislative agenda.
