- Is a 5.2% 2024 Federal Pay Raise Ensured? - December 18, 2023

The fiscal year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) has been passed by Congress and it is expected it will be signed by the president. The bill provides for a 2024 pay raise of 5.2% for military members, which can be an influential factor in the 2024 federal pay raise.
This is the largest military pay raise in over 20 years. It is not a coincidence the president’s alternative pay plan for 2024 also provides for an average pay raise of 5.2% for the federal workforce. This is derived from a basic raise of 4.7% and an additional 0.5% for locality pay.
