Federal Managers Association (FMA) National President Patricia Niehaus spoke with Federal News Radio's Francis Rose regarding the request made by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Ranking Member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) to the Government Accountability Office regarding federal employee morale. Mr. Cummings expressed concern that poor morale caused by the pay freeze, cuts to benefits, and general contempt from the public toward the federal workforce is negatively the ability to fulfill congressionally-mandated missions and goals. Niehaus commented the study would bring to light struggles the federal workforce faces and the problems associated with recruitment and retention low morale creates.
