- FMA CONGRATULATES KIRAN AHUJA ON CONFIRMATION AS OPM DIRECTOR - June 22, 2021
Alexandria, VA – The U.S. Senate voted today to confirm Kiran Ahuja as Director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Vice President Kamala Harris’ vote broke a 50/50 tie. The Federal Managers Association (FMA) endorsed Ahuja for the position to lead OPM. FMA National President Craig Carter made the following comments on her confirmation:
“FMA congratulates Kiran Ahuja on her confirmation as Director of OPM. Her previous experience and service – including several years as chief of staff at OPM – ensure she has the background and qualifications to effectively lead this agency at this critical time.
“As I said in February when she was nominated, the career staff members at OPM have worked admirably under challenging circumstances, including not having a Senate-confirmed director for more than a year, and unstability at the head of the agency for more than five years. Ms. Ahuja can establish a clearly marked direction on behalf of the agency and managers across the government. She is a proven, capable, seasoned leader who will provide the guidance and management necessary for an effective and efficient federal workforce, and we look forward to working with her and her team at OPM.”
