OPM releases 2013 Employee Viewpoint Survey results

After a year of sequestration, a continued pay freeze, and a partial government shutdown, the annual Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, as conducted by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), do not reflect kindly on employees' thoughts on the agencies and departments they work for. Global satisfaction, which makes up job satisfaction, organization satisfaction, whether or not an employee would recommend their organization, ranked at 59 percent. Last year this number was 63 percent.
Commenting on the status of the federal workforce, newly appointed OPM Director Katherine Archuleta stated, "The survey results serve as an important warning about the long-term consequences of the sequestration and budget uncertainty. Without a more predictable and responsible budget situation, we risk losing our most talented employees, as well as hurting our ability to recruit top talent for the future."
