  • House OKs retroactive pay for furloughed workers

    By Kellie Lunney, Defense One

The House of Representatives voted unanimously to provide back pay to furloughed employees once the government shutdown ends. Representative Jim Moran (D-VA) introduced the bill, and upon its passage, he stated, "Today’s legislation guarantees that retroactive pay for our Federal employees will not become a political bargaining chip. The Senate plans to take up the legislation this week, and it is expected to pass. Additionally, President Barack Obama expressed his support of the bill and stated he will sign it into law once it passes the Senate. To read the full article, please click here.
