• 5 Days Before Shutdown, No Deal In Sight

  Federal agencies are updating contingency plans for a potential lapse in funding and a government shutdown with five day remaining before Fiscal Year 2014 begins. The U.S. Senate is considering the House-passed continuing resolution this week, which would keep the government funded through December 15, 2013. However, with little time remaining between now and the start of the new fiscal year, it remains a volatile situation and it is unclear how negotiations will unfold.
