- OPM Issues Guidance on New Religious Compensatory Time Off RuleBy Ian Smith, FedSmithThe Office of Personnel Management recently issued a final rule that creates a new benefit for federal employees who wish to take time off of work for religious reasons.The final rule was published in the Federal Register and goes into effect on May 29, 2019.Under the new rule, federal employees who request time off of work for religious reasons will have 13 pay periods before or after the scheduled date(s) of absence to make up the missed time.To read the full article, please click here.
