  • FMA ANNOUNCES KEYNOTE SPEAKER GSA ACTING ADMINISTRATOR DAN TANGHERLINI - FEBRUARY 14, 2013
  • Alexandria, VA - The Federal Managers Association (FMA) is pleased to announce Dan Tangherlini of the General Services Administration will address FMA members and federal managers and executives on the future of the federal government.

    During the Federal Managers Association's 75th annual National Convention and Management Training Seminar, General Services Administration Acting Administrator Dan Tangherlini will provide a keynote address on Tuesday, March 5, at 8:00 am.


    Mr. Tangherlini was appointed to his position in April 2012. He leads GSA in providing a sustainable, responsible and effective government. GSA is responsible for improving the government's workplace by managing assets, delivering maximum value in acquisitions, preserving historic property, and implementing technology solutions.


    Prior to his time at GSA, Mr. Tangherlini served as the Department of Treasury's Assistant Secretary of Management, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Performance Officer from 2009 to 2012. Before working in the federal government, he served in a variety of roles within Washington, D.C.'s government, including City Administrator and Deputy Mayor from 2006 to 2009, and District Director of Transportation from 2000 to 2006. He received his B.A. and M.P.P. from the University of Chicago and his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.


    FMA National President Patricia Niehaus noted, "We are truly pleased to have Mr. Tangherlini present during our Management Training Seminar. He has been instrumental in promoting efficiency and effectiveness throughout GSA and the federal government. His keynote address will be greatly appreciated by the FMA members in attendance."
