- FMA ENDORSES BIPARTISAN LEGISLATION INTRODUCED ON SERVICE CREDIT BUY BACK - March 27, 2018
- We are pleased to inform all of our members that Congressman Derek Kilmer (D-WA) has introduced a bill that would allow workers in the Federal Employees RetirementSystem (FERS) to make deposits for non-deduction federal service performed. More specifically, current employees to would be able to buy back years served as temporary employees to credit toward their retirement.The bill, H.R. 5389, was introduced on March 22 and immediately cosponsored by Congressman Walter Jones (R-NC) and Congressman Salud Carbajal (D-CA) making it bipartisan in nature.
